Innovative New Feature Ensures Effective Use of Fraud-Fighters by your Employees
In May, 2007, UVeritech rolled-out a new and improved version of America’s best-selling counterfeit fraud detection unit, the Fraud-Fighter™ UV-16.
The enhanced UV-16 DLS "Dual Light Sensor" will introduce a new feature - UV photo cells that monitor output from the ultra-violet light tubes. This feature will help to ensure that your investment in the UV-16 will continue to produce the desired results.
As UV-generating light tubes age, the concentration of long-wave UV light produced by them begins to degrade. This degradation is not readily apparent to the naked eye, since UV light is not visible to humans. Even though the tubes may continue to glow "blu" in color, as the bulbs near the end of their effective lifespan, their ability to fluoresce UV security features will gradually decrease. This may, in turn, lead to employees deciding that "the machine doesn't work" and therefore choose not to use the equipment, and thus, expose your company to fraud that can, and should, be prevented.
The UV photo cells detect the output from the bulbs and will cause a small red LED indicator to light-up when the output falls below the minimum threshold. When this light comes on, you should have about two weeks of continued effectiveness before the bulb needs to be replaced.
The new UV-16 DLS will continue to feature two easily-replaced 8-watt UV light bulbs for the highest effective concentration of UV possible. As light modification to the side panels will make it easier to place documents into the viewing area, and a larger currency reference template with the colors and locations of the US$ security strips will be easier to see.
